SAIC-GM YeZ, Eco-Friendly Concept Car of the Year 2030

Note: There is a rating embedded within this post, please visit this post to rate it.The YeZ concept car is an all electric, eco-friendly vehicle that was designed by the joint venture of SAIC and GM. The design of the car is environment-oriented and gets its power from natural resources.

The concept vehicle features solar panels, which are located on the rooftop and small wind turbines, placed on its wheels. Besides the solar panels, the roof of the YeZ will benefit from an innovative system that will capture carbon dioxide from the surrounding air and then release oxygen in the atmosphere.

The electric energy generated by the solar panels and the wind turbines it’s going to be stored in onboard batteries that will power the vehicle. No technical specifications are available, since the YeZ concept is only a dream of eco-friendly cars that will be used in 2030.

Lotus Evora 414E Hybrid, Shown at 2010 Geneva Motor Show

Note: There is a rating embedded within this post, please visit this post to rate it.The Evora 414E Hybrid concept is the first ever Lotus Hybrid, and has been shown a few days ago at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show. Despite using a fuel efficient drivetrain, this concept vehicle is still a thrilling car, that manages to sprint from 0 to 60 Mph in under 4 seconds, thanks to its output of 408 hp.

The Lotus Evora 414E has two electric motors (one for each rear wheel) and uses an extended-range electric vehicle (E-REV) system, which means it can run on battery power alone for a range of 35 miles, before an optimised 1.2 litre, three-cylinder gas engine with an output of 47 hp, kicks in and acts as a generator, offering an additional range of about 300 miles.

The electrical power is stored in a lithium-ion battery pack, which is placed at the center of the car, for stability and safety. Since the car will run most of the time on electricity, this Lotus concept car features a HALOsonic Internal and External Electronic Sound Synthesis system that makes it sound like a vehicle with an internal combustion engine, making it safe for pedestrians.

Peugeot 360 Concept Car Has Got No Wheels

Enter Peugeot 360… Designed by Andrei França, this concept vehicle uses spheres instead of wheels, making sure you’ll never have a flat tire and giving you a better control of the automobile.

Also, it’s important to mention that the concept car features only three spheres, each powered by an electric motor. They’re all coordinated with the aid of an on-board computer and a system of pulleys. I guess the idea of replacing wheels has got one advantage: better control when parking and backing your car.
