Toyota Biomobile Mecha, Supercar Concept of 2050, Powered by Pollution

The Toyota Biomobile Mecha concept supercar is powered by pollution, since its skin can absorb the harmful substances in the air and turn them into energy.

There’s a “real time strategic navigation planning system” aboard the Toyota vehicle, basically a 3D scanner of the surrounding environment, that’ll guide the car anywhere you want to go and allow it to adapt to any situation.

Toyota Biomobile Mecha relies on nanotechnology and it’s able to expand and contract, both horizontally and vertically. This is a huge advantage for people who need a compact car when the parking space is tight, but also a slim and aerodynamic ride on the fast roads of the future.

Citroen GT Concept Supercar is Visually Astonishing

Note: There is a rating embedded within this post, please visit this post to rate it.The Paris Motor Show 2008 has just started a couple of days ago and we’re already drooling at the many concept cars showed in the capital of France. Among them, the most impressive is surely Citroen GT, the star of the videogame Gran Turismo 5, for the PlayStation 3.

Seems that this playable virtual automobile was turned into a real one, with a huge rear-end, so it stays on your retina long enough to make it your “mental wallpaper”.

Following Mazda’s Nagare design movement, this supercar weighs 3000 pounds and it’s a two seater that can get from 0 to 62 mph in 3.6 seconds. Underneath the hood you’ll find a 646 horse power engine plus another 136 more hp provided by the power of hydrogen.

Inside the Citroen GT, the driver finds a head-up display that shows driving info (speed, navigation data) by using red LEDs and projecting data on the windscreen.

Ferrari Monza Goes Fast, Features an Autopilot

Note: There is a rating embedded within this post, please visit this post to rate it.Forget all of the concept supercars you’ve seen lately, as we’re in for a Ferrari-branded treat. The pics we saw portraying this vehicle make it look like a toy, but what a powerful and expensive contraption it will be! Its designer, Iman Maghsoudi left the complicated task of driving at high speed to the supercar’s computer.

We’re dealing with a Ferrari that allows its driver to sit in a cockpit, just like the one of a Formula 1 car and control the vehicle at lower speeds. However, if you go past 200 km/h or so, the computer takes control and you’ll be back to playing Halo 5 while driving or whatever game will be a hit in the remote future.

Passing to the chassis, this supercar can change shape for better aerodynamics and a reduction of friction, so you won’t take off. The 2 “fins” are used for air circulation and to give the ride a meaner look.

Alfa Romeo Bertone BAT 11 Concept Lands in America

The Bertone BAT 11 was first noticed at the Geneva Auto Show in March and you might want to know that it uses the Alfa Romeo 8 Competizione platform. Some folks have already named it the future Batmobile, while others just see it as an ugly concept car. Maybe it’s because of it lack of curves and angular design, but at least the rims are sexy.

BMW Africa, “Decompose” Concept Car of 2015

Note: There is a rating embedded within this post, please visit this post to rate it.Yesterday we’ve shown you the BMW ZX-6 concept car, designed by the folks of Istituto Europeo di Design of Turin as part of a challenge launched by BMW. Now, the same challenge reveals another great concept, the BMW Africa, designed by Raphael Laurent and Mihai Panaitescu.

The vehicle is inspired by the African lifestyle and culture and it can “deconstruct” itself in order to satisfy the owner’s daily needs. That surely sounds like Transformers action to me, but there’s got to be more symbolism to this baby than meets the eye.

We remind you that the 8 final models of the BMW challenge will be displayed at the Turin Design Institute till the end of September 2008 at a 1:4 scale.

Peugeot Flux Comes With Xbox and Green Attitude

However, the Peugeot Flux, designed by Mihai Panaitescu is one such vehicle, but the positive features don’t end here. This Peugeot is quite compact with a width of 1650 mm and a 3500 mm length, but its look is still appealing as you can see for yourself.

The Flux is a dynamic car, as shown with the aid of the open cockpit and its shape, continuously passing from straight lines to curves while still using the Peugeot style. It might be worth mentioning that this ride features a plastic hood and body panels, aluminium mechanical parts plus metal chassis and head protection.

Mazda Taiki, the Future of Automotive Design

Score one for Mother Nature, as Mazda have just “gone with the wind” and inspired their Taiki design from the flow of wind. “Taiki” is the visual expression of the atmosphere, as seen through its beautiful lines.

Is it just me, or does this car resemble the Batmobile a bit? Back to the serious bit of this concept, Mazda stated that the car’s design is inspired by the wind flowing through a Hagoromo (“flowing robes that enable a celestial maiden to fly”). Now that’s open thinking!
