If you’re familiar to the Le Mans racing history, you must have heard about the Bizzarrini P538, a supercar that wasn’t among the most prolific racers, but surely a looker and powerful vehicle. It was back in the 1960’s when the P538 first surfaced and now it’s being revamped for the sake of the supercar lovers.

What you see above is a computer rendering of the automobile, but you have to know that it uses borrowed chassis from the Galmer Arbitrage GT and a mid-mounted Chevrolet LS7 V8 engine.

Its design is something of a hybrid between a Koenigsegg and a Lotus, but with an original approach. We’ll be seeing an official unveiling of the car in Italy this month, but we don’t know if it’ll make it to the production stage.

After checking out the Lamborghini Reventon experience we’ve gone blind for a few days, but now that we’ve come back to daylight, there’s a neat batch of photos showing a Ferrari 2008 concept design in here.

Check out the A-pillar forward. Does it spell Maserati yo you? Never mind that, as the car still looks uber-cool, but very much NOT like the Ferrari supercars we know and love. Congrats to Luca Serafini for his neat design and here’s a gallery of his great automotive works.

Volkswagen Viseo Prototype Car Comes With a Huge OLED Display

The white prototype car you can see below is really a Volkswagen, even if you can’t believe it. Viseo is designed by Marc Kirsch, who collaborated with Volkswagen design from Wolfsburg and turned this into a brilliant diploma project. It’s an ecological vehicle above all, sporting an electric engine and its lines have been influenced by the architect Santiago Calatrava.

Volkswagen Viseo comes with a beautiful and fragile glass surface on its top side, covered with a flexible OLED film. What’s it used for? Communication, so expect to see movies and commercials on this beauty. It seems we’ve got a business supercar on our hands, since it features a specially designed suitcase space and a giant “display” a la Microsoft Surface.

Mazda Taiki, the Future of Automotive Design

There are concept supercars inspired by animals, others by human emotions and some by … other supercars. Score one for Mother Nature, as Mazda have just “gone with the wind” and inspired their Taiki design from the flow of wind. “Taiki” is the visual expression of the atmosphere, as seen through its beautiful lines.

Mazda Taiki, the Future of Automotive Design

Is it just me, or does this car resemble the Batmobile a bit? Back to the serious bit of this concept, Mazda stated that the car’s design is inspired by the wind flowing through a Hagoromo (“flowing robes that enable a celestial maiden to fly”). Now that’s open thinking!

In case you’ve hit the jackpot in Las Vegas and you don’t know what do to with $ 1 million, we suggest you get in line (and start hoping) for a Lamborghini Reventon. The first model has just been sold via the Lamborghini of Las Vegas dealership, while the rest of 19 are already pre-ordered.

Officially, only 20 Reventon units will be built, but keep praying, who knows? The new Lamborghini goes from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.4 seconds, just like the Murcielago LP640. The beauty you can see in the pics attached to the article also includes most of the mechanical elements (plus engine) taken from LP640.

It’s got a 6.5 litre V12 engine with a total output of 650 HP and this 2 door sports car is a mid-engine four-wheel drive monster with a 6-speed e-gear.

You’re probably familiar with the BMW M1 if you’re a fan of this brand. In case you’re not, let me remind you that 30 years ago the M1 was introduced to the world, becoming an instant hit of the time and the definition of BMW quality vehicles. The model below is a tribute to the original automobile and it’s designed by Paul Bracq and later on by the Italian design house Giugiaro.

The BMW M1 Hommage is a tad more aggressive than the original version and combines old-school design and features with modern looks. Check out the 80’s typical badging on the rear side plus the uber-cool wheels and let’s not forget the louvered rear window.

Skateboard Concept Car

April 1st, 2008

The sports car you can see below can be compared to the average buggie, plus a neat skateboard design that’ll separate it from other similar vehicles. It’s got 10″ wheels and an interesting seat folding system, that allows you to pull the two seats down and make the automobile “flat” while you’re playing volleyball on the sandy beach.

Skateboard Concept Car

You’ll see why this is called a Skateboard car, once its seats are lowered and it enters “Sculpture Mode” a name that the artist, Florian Dobe came up with, for his original morphing mechanism. The major advantage of such a system is decreasing the parking space one needs to park his vehicle.
