In the Maori language, this means “peaks on the back”, a feat that’s shown by the design of the Tuatara, through the tiny wings on the back of the new car. SSC’s new car has a body made entirely of carbon fiber and the chassis and wheels will be made from the same material. The engine is twin turbo V8 (7 liter), that generates 1,350 horsepower, enough to make a Bugatti jealous.

Shelby Supercars Tuatara uses a triple disc carbon clutch, 7 speed manual H-Patter or 7 Speed SMG Paddle Shift. I’d love to see it during a Top Gear show, being tested against the Veyron.

The 9+ Tribute supercar features low aerodynamics and uses a Spyker chassis with a mid-mounted engine, while Saab comes up with the design details and the engineering. The power will probably be provided by an Audi-sourced V8 engine.

The exterior design is pure Saab, featuring simple lines, turbine-style wheels, trademark headlights and the Saab grille, but also a big windshield that extends over the entire roof top. To quote Eduard Gray: “This design, the 9+ Saab Spyker Tribute, is just a quick expression of my optimism for the future of the brand.”

The Lotus Evora 414E has two electric motors (one for each rear wheel) and uses an extended-range electric vehicle (E-REV) system, which means it can run on battery power alone for a range of 35 miles, before an optimised 1.2 litre, three-cylinder gas engine with an output of 47 hp, kicks in and acts as a generator, offering an additional range of about 300 miles.

The electrical power is stored in a lithium-ion battery pack, which is placed at the center of the car, for stability and safety. Since the car will run most of the time on electricity, this Lotus concept car features a HALOsonic Internal and External Electronic Sound Synthesis system that makes it sound like a vehicle with an internal combustion engine, making it safe for pedestrians.

Using the General Motors’ Kappa platform, the LAMPO2 lost some weight and features better aerodynamics. It’s powered by two electric motors (one for each axle) that generate 408 HP and 640 Nm of torque, being able to go up to 60 MPH in just about 5 seconds and reaching a top speed 124 MPH.

The LAMPO2 uses an all-electric plug-in rechargeable drivetrain from BRUSA, that offers four distinct charging modes, for the large-capacity lithium ion battery pack, including an interface for DC fast charging via an off-board system, which offers up to 60 miles of range, after just 10 minutes of charge.

The project was developed by three different departments, the first one worked on the architecture, the second was in charge of the electric parts, while the last one created the body, all coordinated by Thibault Brant, the man responsible with the entire project.

The ultra-light fiberglass body kit was built using a master model made from polyethylene, based on two scale models. The E-Sphyra prototype is powered by a rear-mounted electric engine which generates 100 kilowatts (134 HP) and it weighs only 800 kgs. The construction of this concept vehicle took more than two thousand hours.

The new Maserati concept’s body consists of four distinct layers, which flow from the interior to the exterior. The first one is the exterior glass surface, sustained by a black frame that attaches to the chassis. Tramontane’s second layer contains the dashboard and the headlights and also protects the interior air vents and the speakers.

The impact-resistant lower section of the seats makes out the third layer. This one also extends to the exterior and carries the tail lights. The supercar’s fourth and final layer is located in the front of the vehicle and it serves as a case for the electric engine and as a dashboard. This segment is connected to the chassis and conceals all the electronics.

Maserati Tramontane’s interior design is very simple. On the dashboard we can find a large gauge with digital display, for better navigation. The concept vehicle measures 4.25 meters in length, 1.17 meters in height and it is powered by two electric motors, one for the front wheels and the other for the rear wheels.

In conclusion, the Tramontane is intended to be “a lightweight electric luxury supercar”, to quote Jirec.

Despite its fluid car body design, the V is actually inspired from the 1960s American muscle cars, especially the 1967 Chevrolet Impala, featured in the TV series “Supernatural”. The letter “V”, naming this sports car, is actually the first letter in the name of Ferrante’s girlfriend.

The V Concept has its distinct character and is not intended to be a revival of the Chevrolet Impala. Instead it’s a tribute to the style of the American muscle cars, with their imposing muscular build. This vehicle measures around 5 meters in length, 2 meters in width and has a height of about 1.4 meters. Even though the concept is not going into serial production, Ferrante proposed a hybrid engine for the supercar.

We’re dealing with an electric sportscar that’s based on alternate energy and its regeneration, by using kinetic watches, wind turbines, geothermic energy and even a … “sustainable dance floor” that absorbs the energy from the bouncing of the floor.

This baby can also turn, as it handles the curves as if it were a motorbike, well two bikes actually, plus a central kinetic axis (picture below).

The Phoenix is a concept two-seater that uses a front wind turbine to also generate a bit more energy, while slowing down. Even the suspension system generates energy with the aid of kinetic movement, so you’ll have plenty of electricity to toy with.

Aside from folding and fitting into small parking spaces, the BRB Evolution can also save the Earth, by being “green” and using an electric or hydrogen-based engine. Also, you shouldn’t forget a dog or your mate inside the car while it’s being folded as it will pretty much damage the person or pet. That’s right, no passengers while the car’s folding!

The Tatra 903 is a fuel cell luxury sportscar that features a beautiful aerodynamic design. Its water drop shape reminds me of the gangster cars from the golden years of jazz in the US and hopefully we’ll see this turn into a real automobile some day.
