The 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 has been all over the news lately, impressing us with its aggressive line and we’ve even got some inside details on it, like the price. This yellow bundle of love is supposed to hit the stores in 2015 and it takes the Stingray legacy further into the future.
There’s a new 6.2 liter LT4 engine inside, based on the Stingray LT1 architecture with low end torque focus. There’s a seven speed manual transmission here with auto rev matching and apparently you can also order an 8 speed version. The estimated price of the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is about $85,000, which is not bad at all. Its engine is placed at the front and we’ve got a 2 door hatchback setup for the design.
The horsepower offered here is in the range of 635 to 645 and the wheelbase is 106.7 inches. This supercar hits 60 MPH in 3.4 seconds and it comes with tires mounted on lightweight spin cast aluminum wheels. Those are wider than the Stingray’s and the Corvette Z06 is made so it will produce aerodynamic downforce, that will press the tire to the ground at high speeds.
There are 4 gearsets and five clutches here and for the initial version of the car, the Z06 had fitted larger Michelin tires. Is this the Chevy to rule them all?
